You can quickly and easily see a customer’s membership information, apply promotions. Apply rewards and gift cards directly to a retail cart, trigger earn events, and enrol new members right from the app.

Enhanced New Customer Account extensions

With Lantern, using New Customer Accounts doesn’t mean your account experience has to be boring.
Using Flare, our codeless editor tool, you can take full control of the layout and content of your New Customer Account page without having to involve a developer. You can easily add headlines, content, and images to your Account page using a Drag and Drop interface.
We’ve made the Account Overview more flexible as well as expanded support for managing your Wallet and Rewards. Customers can now access their gift cards, store credit, and rewards directly from their Lantern Wallet inside of New Customer Accounts.
If you’re using New Customer Accounts, you can access these features today in the Lantern app.
Manual Rewards and Events triggering
We added the ability to manually add Rewards and trigger Earn Events to specific Customers from within Lantern. You can now insert Rewards like Discounts and Gift Cards directly into a Customer’s Lantern Wallet. You can also trigger Events directly from the Customer making it easy to kick off Shopify Flow events and reward customers for special actions.
You and your Customer Success team can access these features today in the Customers section in the Lantern app.
More Seamless On-Site Experiences for New Customer Accounts
Even with Shopify’s New Customer Accounts, the best place for your customers to engage with their account is still on your storefront. We added new features focused on making it easy for your customers to move seamlessly between New Customer Accounts and your storefront.
You can now more easily redirect your users who login to any page on your store, create logged-in-only experiences using the Online Store Editor, and automatically open the Account Menu based on specific user behaviour.
We also added the ability for merchants on New Customer Accounts to switch between logged in and logged out states using the Online Store Editor.
Enhanced localization and multi-currency features

How do you say Lantern in German?
One of our new customers really tested the limits of our internationalization and localization features. Baumann – Welt Der Weine is a wine retailer who wanted to launch a rewards program using Lantern. In German. On New Customer Accounts.
We worked with the Baumann team to improve our localization support across the entire platform by enhancing multi-currency handling and translation coverage. Custom content has always been a core feature of Lantern but we can now more confidently support stores across the world.
Check out Baumann — Welt Der Weine today.
Optional Loyalty Opt In
We added the option to require customers to explicitly opt-in to your membership program. You can now require users to review your terms of service and program benefits before opting into your membership program.
This is especially important for merchants using New Customer Accounts as customers aren’t required to go through an explicit account creation process. This is also useful for merchants in specific geographic regions that want to make sure Customers are given a full understanding of the program before they opt in.
Loyalty Opt In is enabled by default for stores using New Customer Accounts and can be managed in your Loyalty settings in the Lantern app.

New Customer Accounts support
Yesterday, Shopify released Customer Accounts extensibility for Shopify merchants on all plans. We partnered with Shopify on the release by building a set of extensions you can use on your New Customer Account dashboard today.
We built our Customer Accounts integrations to work seamlessly with your existing storefront extensions so now you don’t have to choose between being on the latest Shopify accounts technology and using Lantern’s features.
If you’re using classic customer accounts, you still get access to all the new features we’ve built. Lantern works great no matter what version of Customer Accounts you use.
New Dynamic Account Menu

Shopify’s Customer Account dashboard lives outside of your store so we wanted to make sure your customers still had an easy way to access their account information. We rebuilt our Account Menu from the ground up to give you complete control and still give your customers what they want.
With our Dynamic Account Menu you can:
Give access to order status, recently viewed products, and more
Help logged-in customers access to their most used features right from your navigation
Give customers a clear path to creating an account wherever they are on your store
Take full control to build a menu that fits your brand.
The new Account Menu extension works great for merchants using new Customer Accounts or legacy Customer Accounts.
If you were using our Account Menu extension, your store has already been upgraded to use our new menu. Check it out in Lantern.
Introducing Flare, our no-code editor

In order to give you the most control over both Customer Accounts extensions and the powerful Dynamic Account Menu, we built a brand new editing experience. We call it Flare.
Flare gives you complete control over the content, layout, and style of your Lantern extensions. We’ve started with supporting our latest extensions but we’ll be rolling out support for all of our extensions over time.
We’re really excited about the future possibilities Flare will enable for us as we build more customization and personalization tools into Lantern. Like all of our features, it’s available for merchants on all plans.
Try it out now in the Lantern app.

Analytics have launched! We created a set of initial reports to help you better understand how your customer experience is performing with Lantern.
Access these on your store now or book a quick 30 minute demo to see them in action. Initial load times might be a bit slow initially as the feature rolls out.
We’ll be releasing new analytics continuously. If there are any specific reports that you’d like to see, send us a note.
Customer lifetime value (LTV) — See the predicted lifetime value for customers in different segments over time. This will help you understand the value of your membership program versus your non-members and how that is changing over time.
Average order value (AOV) — Compare how much customers are spending on average between members, non-members, and different tiers in your loyalty program.
Signups over time — See how your customer account signups are changing over time and where you’re converting the most. Easily track how your signup actions and incentives are working to increase sign ups earlier in the funnel.
Loyalty redemptions — Track your loyalty reward activity and and see which rewards are the most popular on average or per membership tier.
Referral activity — Track the number of completed referrals in any given time and the revenue and average order value generated by those referred orders.
Multi-Step Forms & Customer Properties

Multi-Step Forms and Customer Properties are now out of beta and available to everyone to use in Earn Events. Now you can incentivize and reward customers for sharing zero-party (customer shared) data.
Capture a range of input types including text, preset options, locations, and dates to collect anything you need. Use that data to customize your Online Store, email marketing in Klaviyo, or anything you imagine.
Customer Properties added through multi-step forms are displayed on the Customer page for easy customer support.
Try them out on your store now or book a quick 30 minute demo to see them in action.
Automatic Collection Discounts and Better Automatic Discount Configuration

Automatic Collection Discounts
We added the ability to choose collections to the Automatic Product Discount. You can now select one or many collections and create a code-less automatic discount that will give a percent or fixed-amount discount off any item in those collections.
Automatic Discount Improvements
We took the improvements we made for Referral discounts and rolled them out across our automatic shipping and product discounts and added a few other new features.
Add a personalized display message for each discount that will show in cart and checkout.
Use discount combination settings to limit how your automatic discounts are able to interact with other product, shipping, or order discounts.
Create fixed value amount discounts (eg. $10 off) for product and shipping discounts.
Limit shipping discounts to specific products or collections
Custom CSS
We added a new section to the Online Store / Brand
section in Lantern to add custom CSS to your theme. You can use this to customize Lantern components across your entire Online Store without having to edit your theme code.
