How these places are counted

The map. Each AI visit is placed in a country and, where its location is good enough, a state or province. Countries are grouped into six world regions. US visits are also placed in a county when their location is good enough and the store's orders confirm it. A place is shaded by its share of the AI visits on screen. It shows once 10 AI visits come from it, and opens once it has 50.

Orders and revenue. These are the orders behind the revenue figure above. Each counts in the place where the visit it's credited to started, even when that visit was before the date range. An order whose visit can't be placed is left off the map. A place's orders can come from visits outside the date range, so a place's orders and visits can't be compared directly.

Which visits. A visit is placed by its first page view. US states count visits located to within about 60 miles (100 km), and counties to within about 12 miles (20 km). Visits on known VPNs are left out, and so are US visits where the device's clock doesn't match the place. AI agents' own requests aren't visits and never appear.

Places, not people. These counts say where visits came from. Lantern can't tell who made a visit.
