Why counts differ
Lantern can only count an AI visit when the assistant leaves a trace. Most do not. When an assistant sends a visitor without a referral attached, that visit is real but invisible, so every number here is a floor, not a ceiling.
Two trackers, two kinds of visitor. The store pixel counts people who arrive from an assistant. Agent tracking counts the AI systems themselves reading your pages. They measure different things and are never added together.
Journeys are dated by their latest activity. A journey that started last week but continued yesterday shows up under yesterday. Visit counts are dated by the referral. The same traffic can land in different columns in different views.
The journey chart draws a sample. It shows the most common paths, not every visit, so an assistant can look lighter there than it really is.
Journeys can show less money than the sales total. The sales total counts every order attributed to AI in the date range, including orders where an AI assistant helped earlier and the visitor came back to buy by another route. The journey groups only count orders placed on the AI visit itself, so those assisted orders are drawn as journeys but carry no sales there. An order placed this week after a visit from ChatGPT last month counts toward the total too, but its journey is dated before the range and is not drawn. The line under the journey groups says how many orders that leaves out and what they were worth.
How the change is worked out
The arrow beside AI visits compares this date range with the one just before it, of the same length. It shows only when your pixel tracked every day of both ranges, each range has at least 20 AI visits, and the change is bigger than the ordinary ups and downs at your level of traffic.
